TIME TELLS THE STORY is a spoken-word album of traditional themed stories from Guyana, South America and Alkebulan. The stories within this album will transport you to the Amazonian Rainforest and the open savannah, like in THE KORA PLAYER who meets his end in the mouth of an old deaf LION, or The BLIND MAN who doesn’t take the advice of his TAILOR, and then an alluring seductive, WATTA MUMMER tale, of pleasurable gifts and dangerous liaisons.
TuuP - is an oral traditional storytelling artist, born in England of Guyanese parents.
Mantu - is a drummer/programmer and creative soundscape artist, from London.
Both artists work in collaboration with TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND. A Global-Dub-Dance-Fusion music group, of ground breaking sound and social commentary.
TIMES TELLS THE STORY has a unforgettable rhythmic pulsating soundtrack, which is supported by a elemental, atmospheric, soundscape. The music frames the stories and carries the listener from track one through to track eight. Long may the journey continue.
In fact THEE UNSPOKEN WORD’S ground zero is an album called, CHILDREN OF THE SWEET WATER. A storytelling album about the story of MELUSINE, her two sisters and their Mother’s curse. A storytelling album produced by THEE UNSPOKEN WORD & TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND 2021.

I am new to this band - what kept me? I just love this track - it has a very updated klezmer feel. I've just subscribed after reading about the group in Songlines and am pleased so far. Frank Parry
